Christmas Tree in Memory of our children @ Woburn Abbey

On Sunday 11th December the group will come together and decorate a tree in the gardens at Woburn Abbey in memory of the children who will not with them at this festive time.

Anyone is welcome to attend and decorate the tree. Porcelain stars will be available for parents and family members to write a message on and hang it on the tree.

Decorating will start at 3.15pm. A small group of volunteers will sing carols in the background and warm drinks will be available. It’s an opportunity to spend a few minutes before  the rush of Christmas is upon us all to just take time to gather our thoughts and feelings and create a tree decorated with love and unified by all the children’s names.

To attend, follow the signs to Woburn Abbey Gardens. At the gate house let them know that you are attending the tree decorating event and you will not be charged to entre.

  1. This is our third year attending the tree decorating at Woburn. Walking along the path towards the tree I thought what a sad path this was we were treading. However the warmth you get when you reach your destination from friends who really do understand how you feel is truly wonderful. Your warmth and understanding really help through the dark times. Thankyou

  2. Our first year, a poignant time thinking of our son & hanging a star dedicated to him on the beautiful tree. Listening to the carol singers with hot chocolate & mince pies, amongst those who empathise completely, experiencing the same grief & loss themselves……..bereaved parents with stars of their own. Such a comfort.

The tears in our eyes we can wipe away.
The ache in our hearts will always stay.
